looking for a friendly, intelligent girl

Hi! I just thought I'd give this a try. I've always hoped to meet an intellectual girl who shares my curiosity about the world and who sees beyond the surface of people, places, and events to question deeper meaning. I'd be happy to chat with anyone who's just interested in chatting, but am also always open to the possibility of a potential friendship or relationship. I'm currently approaching the completion of my graduate degree in biology. I'm creative, intelligent, and have an absurd sense of humor. I consider myself a 'quantitative vegetarian' which means that although I have no philosophical issue with eating meat, I try to eat as little as possible (only fish at home) because eating meat uses more resources and is less ecologically sustainable. I also try to eat local and organically grown food when possible (don't argue about whether or not there is a health benefit of eating organic! it IS better for the environment regardless! :) ). Anyway, I love to cook and find interesting new foods to try and make. I love to discuss politics and philosophy, go to concerts, camping/hiking/running, and generally being outside. I care deeply about social and environmental justice and peace/non-violence. I oppose all war and violence, even if it purports to be in the interest of some well-intentioned goal (usually misguided), hence I am a strong critic of the U.S. government (irrespective of party affiliations). It is important to me that I meet someone who also cares deeply about the world, whether or not we share specific interests.
